FAQs
How do I place an order?
You can place an order in one of two ways:
Order Online: Visit our online store, find the specs you need, and easily add them to your cart to complete your order directly online.
Order via Email: If you prefer personalized assistance, you can email us at sales@timbermasters.ca. One of our team members will chat with you about your project and provide you with a quote. We will guide you through the ordering process and help you with any questions you may have.
What wood species are the products made from?
Timber Masters specializes in Canadian Douglas Fir wood, known for its strength and durability. We can also special order Cedar upon request and offer Spruce for select solid exterior projects.
Why do you only use free of heart center wood and not boxed heart?
Wood is a beautiful and timeless material, and its natural charm is something to be admired and appreciated. At Timber Masters, we are dedicated to bringing out the best in every piece of wood we work with, ensuring that its beauty lasts a lifetime. Our commitment to excellence begins with the quality of the wood itself, and is complemented by our expert finishing techniques and products.
The key to exceptional wood quality lies in the cut. While boxed heart timber is more economical and readily available, we exclusively use the highest-grade, carefully selected free of heart center cuts to ensure the best possible aesthetic and durability. By prioritizing these superior cuts, Timber Masters guarantees that your investment in wood will stand the test of time, both in appearance and performance.
Let us help you transform your space with the natural beauty of wood—crafted and finished to perfection.
What is cladding?
Cladding: A Cost-Effective Solution for Beams and Posts
Cladding is a versatile technique that allows you to cover existing materials to create the appearance of solid beams and posts. Our cladding solution offers two options:
For Posts: Three sides are pre-assembled, with one side left unassembled for easy on-site installation.
For Beams: Two sides are pre-assembled, with one side unassembled for quick assembly on-site.
This approach is often used for cost-effective timber on the fronts of homes or to refresh a mantle with a new look. Our cladding material is 0.75” thick, and we recommend leaving approximately 0.25” of extra room for smooth installation.
Reach out to our team to discuss your cladding needs. We'll help you determine the right sizing and provide tailored advice for your project.
Can I order custom sizes that I don’t see on the website?
Yes, you can! While our website features a selection of popular sizes for convenience and cost breakdown, we offer a wide range of custom sizes that may not be represented online. If you need a specific size, simply reach out to us at sales@timbermasters.ca with your custom requirements, and we'll provide you with a quote.
What is the longest one-piece cladding or beam you can make without joints?
We offer uninterrupted lengths up to 26FT. For projects that demand extended lengths, we use offset joints to seamlessly create longer beams. Additionally, we can use a 2-piece construction with Z or half lap scarf joints, allowing for unlimited overall lengths without compromising on stability or aesthetic quality.
Can I order a truss as hollow?
Yes, all of our trusses can be made as hollow or hybrid designs for added support. These options are often more cost-effective than solid trusses, depending on volume and texture, and are easy to install due to their lightweight nature. Best of all, they don’t require additional structural support. For custom designs, sizing, or hollow products, feel free to contact our team, and we’d be happy to assist you with your specific needs.
How do I install my box beams?
Our box beams are installed over a cleat, scribed into the wall, and then fastened. For a step-by-step guide, check out the tutorial on our website: Installation Tutorial.
How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Our standard lead time for box beams and timber elements is typically 4-7weeks after an order is placed, as we custom-make each piece to order. For larger orders or solid timber elements, the lead time is generally 6-10 weeks following order submission.
What is a stain treatment?
At Timber Masters, we’ve developed a proprietary range of colors that can’t be found anywhere else on the market. Our stains are a multi-step process that interacts with the wood's tannins, creating a stunning array of natural shades within the grain. Unlike traditional stains, our treatments absorb directly into the wood without leaving a "painted" finish, enhancing the wood's natural beauty.
We offer custom colors designed to match popular wood types like White Oak, Sequoia, Cedar, Aged Hickory, Weathered Barn Wood, and more. Note that while our Standard Stains are custom colors, they are not treatments like our exclusive wood solutions.
Do you ship to my location?
We ship anywhere in Canada and the USA.
How much does it cost for shipping?
Due to various factors such as weight, dimensions, and location, we do not provide a standard shipping guide. Shipping costs are determined by these variables. We offer delivery to business addresses, residential addresses, and local depots (if available in your area).
We recommend budgeting between $100-$850 for shipping and $150-$350 for crating, depending on the size and nature of your order. Keep in mind that lighter items like box beams (which are hollow) are more cost-effective to ship compared to heavier, solid timber pieces, which may increase shipping costs.
If you are located in the Grande Prairie area we offer delivery.
Where is Timber Masters located?
We are located south of Grande Prairie, AB at 703047 RR 64 County of Grande Prairie No.1 T8W 5K1.

On our website, we accept credit card payments. For orders placed through a quote, we also accept credit card, debit, e-transfer, EFT, and cheque.
What is your return policy?
All orders are final sale.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Upon receiving your order, please carefully inspect the crating for any signs of damage, and then check the items themselves. We perform a thorough quality inspection and tagging before shipping. If you notice any shipping damage, please contact the Timber Masters team immediately—within 24 hours of receiving your order.
